Casey Stoner takes pole at Valencia

Stoner qualifies on the front row for 12th time this season.

He dominated the qualifying session of the Gran Premio Gernerali de la Comunitat Valenciana, and lapped over one second faster than the second placed Dani Pedrosa. Spies of Factory Yamaha qualified in third place.

Valentino Rossi who was third quickest in the wet drying FP1, has qualified on the outside of the second row. However, he was 1.617s behind the pole setter Casey Stoner. The highest qualified Ducati rider is Randy De Puniet in fourth, following him is Rizla Suzuki’s Alvaro Bautista.

Hayden, Dovizioso, Barbera and Abrahim completed the top-ten positions.

Last time out in Sepang, MotoGP was hit by another tragedy; we lost a passionate rider in Macro Simoncelli, who succumbed to injuries sustained in the second lap crash and a collision with Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi. Our sympathies go to his family and friends. He will always be remembered. You can watch Marco Simoncelli’s Sepang Crash Video.
